CSGG NewsMedia , January 2026

The leadership of the Citizens Support for Good Governance (CSGG) has declared that the Minister of Defence, General CG Musa, continues to impress Nigerians with his genuine commitment to ensuring lasting peace, national stability, and strong security partnerships aimed at defeating terrorism and banditry.

Speaking to journalists in Kaduna on Wednesday, January 8, 2026, after monitoring national news coverage, the National Coordinator and Director of Media and Public Affairs of the CSGG, Dr. Olayinka Adeosun and Hon. Victor Bobai, said the Minister’s strategic engagements with global powers clearly demonstrate Nigeria’s seriousness in addressing security challenges.

They referenced General CG Musa’s recent meeting with the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Richard Hugh Montgomery, at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Ship House, Abuja, where discussions centered on counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, and strengthening the operational capacity of the Armed Forces.

According to the CSGG leaders, the engagement reaffirmed mutual commitment between Nigeria and the United Kingdom to advance defence cooperation and respond effectively to emerging security threats across the country and the West African sub-region.

Dr. Adeosun noted that peace and security remain the foundation of national progress, stressing that the Minister’s hands-on leadership and international diplomacy are building confidence locally while earning Nigeria positive external ratings as a nation firmly committed to the fight against terrorism and banditry.

Hon. Bobai added that these partnerships are translating into real opportunities for safety, tranquility, and improved intelligence-driven operations.

The CSGG leadership concluded by calling on Nigerians to continue supporting the Federal Government, the Honourable Minister of Defence, and the security agencies, emphasizing that collective responsibility and public trust are essential to sustaining peace and securing Nigeria’s future.
