Opposition Attacks on CG Musa Will Not Diminish Public Trust in Tinubu’s Security Agenda — CSGG, SSA Bobai
Abuja — Dr. Olayinka Adeosun, National Coordinator of the Centre for Security Governance and Growth (CSGG), and Victor Mathew Bobai, Senior Special Assistant to Kaduna State Governor on Public Affairs, have jointly cautioned opposition elements against what they described as a “failed and predictable strategy” of targeting individuals with high moral standing and growing political capital in order to undermine public confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement released on Thursday, the two leaders said opposition surrogates have increasingly resorted to personal attacks on nationally respected figures whose performance and credibility are positively influencing public support for the President. They warned that such tactics would neither distract the government nor sway Nigerians.
They singled out Christopher Gwabin Musa, Minister of Defence, as one of the individuals unfairly targeted.
“General Christopher Gwabin Musa is a man who has consistently put his life on the line in service to Nigeria,” the statement read. “Dragging him into the frustration of failed political careers is both reckless and dishonest. CG Musa has a proven pedigree, a record of sacrifice, and the heart of a true national patriot.”
According to Dr. Adeosun and Hon. Bobai, the renewed excitement surrounding General Musa’s appointment reflects widespread confidence in his capacity to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture, not propaganda as claimed by critics.
“The excitement surrounding CG Musa’s appointment rekindles memories of the euphoria and high expectations Nigerians once placed in the late President Muhammadu Buhari,” they noted. “It is a reminder that Nigerians still believe in disciplined leadership, sacrifice, and national service.”
They further stressed that President Tinubu’s support for General Musa is rooted in competence and trust, not politics.
“President Bola Tinubu has seen the commitment, professionalism, and patriotism that CG Musa represents, and that is why he is giving him the necessary institutional and political backing to succeed,” the statement said.
The leaders urged opposition figures to adopt constructive engagement rather than personal attacks, insisting that Nigerians are more interested in results and national stability than in “noise-driven narratives.”
“General Musa has accepted the burden of national expectation,” the statement concluded. “May he rise to the occasion, fulfill the nation’s hopes, and not disappoint the people.”
