🛑 CSGG RAPID RESPONSE STATEMENT

RE: BASELESS AND DIVISIVE CLAIM BY ON ALLEGED CAPITAL RELOCATION

The Coalition for the Support of Good Governance (CSGG) strongly condemns the reckless, misleading, and divisive statement credited to alleging that President plans to relocate Nigeria’s capital from to .

This claim is not only false—it is a deliberate attempt to misinform Nigerians, incite regional tension, and distract from the serious business of governance.

Let it be stated clearly: Nigeria’s capital remains Abuja—by law, by policy, and by reality. No policy proposal, legislative move, or executive action exists to support this baseless assertion. Peddling such fiction is nothing short of political mischief dressed as commentary.

It is deeply unfortunate that at a time when the nation requires unity and constructive engagement, certain individuals choose to traffic in fear, ethnic suspicion, and cheap propaganda for relevance.

The so-called “Lagos agenda” narrative is tired, hollow, and intellectually dishonest. Economic activities in Lagos are a product of historical evolution and commercial viability—not a secret plan to undermine national balance.

CSGG warns against the dangerous pattern of weaponizing misinformation to polarize Nigerians. Such conduct is irresponsible and unbecoming of anyone claiming to have held public office.

We urge Nigerians to reject these falsehoods and remain focused on verified facts and national development priorities. The administration of President Tinubu remains committed to the unity, stability, and progress of all regions of Nigeria.

Nigeria will not be distracted by manufactured controversies.

Hon. Dr. Victor Mathew Bobai
