The Coalition for the Support of Good Governance (CSGG) proudly commends the Honourable Minister of Defence, , for his timely, strategic, and forward-thinking call for a unified national approach in addressing terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria.
His advocacy for a “two-legged” strategy—integrating both kinetic (military) and non-kinetic (community-based and socio-economic) responses—reflects a deep understanding of the evolving nature of asymmetric warfare and the complexities surrounding modern security challenges.
CSGG strongly aligns with the Minister’s position that defeating terrorism requires more than battlefield victories. His emphasis on community engagement, trust-building, and inclusive participation—drawing from successful experiences in and —demonstrates a pragmatic and results-driven leadership approach. The “Borno model” remains a clear testament to the power of collaboration between security forces and local communities.
We also commend his candid recognition that terrorist groups such as and operate through coordinated alliances, thereby necessitating a united national front that transcends political, ethnic, and religious divides.
CSGG particularly applauds the Minister’s call to action for all stakeholders—including citizens, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society, and the private sector—to actively participate in safeguarding national security. This inclusive framework reinforces the principle that security is a shared responsibility.
At a critical time in our nation’s history, this visionary approach aligns seamlessly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of , and represents a bold step toward sustainable peace, stability, and national cohesion.
CSGG reiterates its unwavering support for General Musa’s leadership and urges all Nigerians to embrace this collective security doctrine for the greater good of our nation.
