CSGG REBUTTAL: SECURITY CHALLENGES REQUIRE RESPONSIBILITY, NOT PANIC
Citizens Support for Good Governance (CSGG) acknowledges the pain and concern surrounding recent security incidents across parts of Nigeria. Every life lost is tragic and deserving of empathy. However, alarmist narratives that portray Nigeria as uniquely overwhelmed or on the brink of collapse do more harm than good and risk creating unnecessary panic among citizens.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is confronting long-standing security challenges with renewed coordination, intelligence-led operations, and stronger inter-agency collaboration. Across the country, security forces have dismantled criminal networks, rescued abducted victims, and neutralized key terror elements efforts that reflect commitment, not indifference.
CSGG cautions against framing criminal violence along religious or ethnic lines. Criminals are enemies of all Nigerians Christians, Muslims, and others alike. Such narratives only deepen division and embolden those who seek to destabilize the nation.
Nigeria’s security challenges are serious, but they are neither ignored nor insurmountable. The Tinubu administration is pairing kinetic responses with long-term reforms in governance, economic recovery, and social stability because sustainable security requires both force and opportunity.
At this critical moment, Nigeria needs unity, responsible commentary, and support for the men and women risking their lives daily to protect the nation not exaggerated comparisons that undermine public confidence and national morale.
