CSGG REJECTS MISLEADING SPECULATIONS ON GENERAL CHRISTOPHER MUSA
The attention of the Coalition for the Support of Good Governance (CSGG) has been drawn to recent comments by Solomon Dalung suggesting that the decision of Christopher Musa to serve as Minister of Defence under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have negatively altered a hypothetical future political trajectory.
We state unequivocally that such assertions are speculative, misleading, and fundamentally flawed.
At a time when Nigeria is confronted with serious security challenges, it is both irresponsible and unfortunate to reduce a critical national assignment to mere political conjecture about 2031.
General Musa’s decision to serve is rooted in patriotism, duty, and national interest not personal political ambition. True leadership is demonstrated through service and sacrifice, not by avoiding responsibility in pursuit of future possibilities.
The attempt to compare him with Muhammadu Buhari or suggest that his appointment was designed to preempt any future ambition lacks both logic and evidence. Such narratives only serve to:
Distract from the urgent task of securing the nation
Politicize a sensitive national security office
Create unnecessary and unfounded suspicion
The CSGG firmly rejects this line of discourse and calls on public commentators to exercise responsibility, especially on matters that concern national stability and security.
General Musa remains focused, committed, and fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, working diligently to strengthen Nigeria’s defence architecture and restore public confidence.
Nigeria at this moment requires support, unity, and constructive engagement not speculative narratives that undermine those serving the nation.
We therefore urge all stakeholders to place national interest above personal opinions and political projections.
Let General Musa serve. Let Nigeria move forward.
