The Citizens Support for Good Governance (CSGG) applauds the decisive leadership shown by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in addressing Nigeria’s national security challenges, as highlighted by General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, according to The Nation Newspaper.
President Tinubu’s recent official visit to Türkiye, which culminated in the signing of nine (9) bilateral agreements including a defence cooperation pact demonstrates a clear commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s defence capabilities and enhancing operational effectiveness in the fight against terrorism, banditry, insurgency, and other asymmetric threats, as reported by The Nation Newspaper.
As emphasized by General Musa, these engagements are practical and forward-looking steps toward building a self-reliant and technologically capable Nigerian Armed Forces, which remains a critical foundation for sustainable peace and national security.
The CSGG calls on all stakeholders government institutions, security agencies, development partners, and citizens to rally support behind the leadership of the Minister of Defence and the President’s strategic security agenda.
Such unified support is essential for translating diplomatic partnerships and defence cooperation into tangible improvements in safety, stability, and prosperity for all Nigerians.
Nigeria’s security architecture is steadily being modernised, and with this level of leadership and strategic direction, CSGG believes the nation is moving in the right direction in confronting its longstanding security challenges, as reflected in The Nation Newspaper.
