Peace and Unity in Focus: CSGG Northwest Coordinator Commends Christopher Gwabin Musa for Strengthening National Cohesion
The Northwest Coordinator of the Coalition for Sustainable Growth and Good Governance (CSGG), Hamisu Danbaba Malunfashi, has commended the Honourable Minister of Defence, CG Musa, for his efforts in promoting peace, unity, and harmonious relations among diverse groups across Northern Nigeria.
Malunfashi made the remarks while speaking on a planned Peace and Harmonization Breakfast Meeting being organized by CSGG Leaders in collaboration with the Tinubu–Uba Leadership Network (TULN), alongside Muslim and Christian media influencers and supporters.
According to him, the Minister’s leadership has continued to encourage cooperation among ethno-religious groups, political leaders, and peace advocates in the region.
He noted that the initiative is designed to strengthen confidence in the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to build stronger collaboration among stakeholders committed to national unity.
Malunfashi explained that the Minister has consistently supported efforts that promote dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
“The Honourable Minister of Defence has supported the Northern region to develop harmonious relations among ethno-religious groups, political leaders, and peace advocates.
This is part of his commitment to building confidence in the administration of President Bola Tinubu,” he said.
He further emphasized that the proposed breakfast meeting aims to deepen cooperation among leaders and community influencers who are working to support peace-building initiatives.
Malunfashi added that the Minister’s approach aligns with the national security awareness campaign that encourages citizens to “see something and say something.”
“As part of efforts to strengthen synergy among communities, we must connect the spirit of ‘see something and say something’ so that conflict entrepreneurs are kept out of business. We must create love for ourselves and encourage unity in Nigeria,” he said.
Also speaking, Mariam Audu, a community advocate from Maiduguri, described the Defence Minister as a long-standing peace builder whose leadership style has always prioritized reconciliation and cooperation.
She recalled that his commitment to peace was evident even during his earlier leadership roles.
“It is the usual situation with the Honourable Minister. Even during his time as a theatre commander, he was known as a peace builder,” she said.
Audu expressed optimism that his presence in the current administration is helping to strengthen public confidence in the country’s leadership.
“We are lucky to have him in the Tinubu administration, and that is why many of us have confidence in the system,” she added.
The proposed Peace and Harmonization Breakfast Meeting, according to the organizers, will bring together community leaders, media influencers, and supporters from both Muslim and Christian communities to promote dialogue, mutual trust, and collaboration in support of national unity and security.
