North Remains Divided, Victory Assured: Tinubu’s Cash Will Talk While He Watches The Melodrama – J.D. Ephraim

A political discussion trending on a social media platform has been picked up by Privilege Magazine, where Barrister J.D. Ephraim offered a deep analysis of the unfolding politics ahead of next year’s general elections.
Speaking in the discussion, Barr. Ephraim said elections in Nigeria have become seasonal tools to excite emotions of hate, but according to him, heaven will not collapse after the polls as everything will continue as usual, more so for the North.
Ephraim however expressed what he called a sneaky feeling that the current divisive narratives are deliberately designed by some forces to achieve certain results.
According to him, two political weapons exist in the North: religion and tribe. He noted that even the existing Tinubu Muslim/Muslim Presidential ticket is part of that arsenal.
“We ain’t seen nothing yet. Tinubu’s cash will talk, while he the President remains quiet, watching the melodrama in the North. Didn’t we see it in 2022/’23? What remains is the tribal component of the political arsenal, and Tinubu will go tripping and falling, and talking incoherent gibberish during campaigns,” Ephraim stated.
He argued that the hope for some political interests is that the North will continue to remain divided along those politically weaponized trajectories, then victory will be assured.
Ephraim identified a third political weapon as the current insecurity in the North, which he expects will keep increasing up to the elections in January next year.
He listed a fourth political weapon as a surprising Hausa versus Fulani divide made possible via the ongoing terrorism. In his words, it is unfortunate that it is the Fulani that are carrying out this terrorism against the indigenous ethnic groups, including the Hausa indigenous ethnic group who had hitherto provided shelter for the Fulani under a deceitful compound name “Hausa-Fulani.” He said today there is a new Hausa renaissance and it is against those they have sheltered for over 220 years.
“The North today is divided along all the above lines: there will no longer be the block vote,” he said.
Barr. Ephraim further argued that the Fulani ruling block in the North had inadvertently helped the present division of the North along the politically weaponized lines mentioned above. He accused the ruling oligarchy in the North of keeping the people poor, illiterate and uneducated so that they can be easily controlled, describing it as an unspoken policy for over two hundred years ago.
“This policy has produced an army of poor and uneducated people in the North. The World Bank says the North is the poverty capital of the world, not Nigeria, or Africa ooo! The world!!! It has over 30 million out-of-school children roaming the streets as either beggars or almajirai. Check it you will never find Fulani children among them. Are they not a potential army of Voters? Imagine Tinubu’s massive cash going into the hands. We have not even mentioned other economically impoverished Northerners. Therefore, Tinubu’s massive cash is another politically weaponized thing,” he said.
He concluded by asking, “Would any Southern Presidential aspirant want the North to be united again? Is it their fault that the North is not politically united? O.K. add the Tinubu’s theatrics of constant falling down and speaking uncoordinated gibberish during campaigns, who is that Southern Presidential candidate, that has the Tinubu’s cash and his manipulative styles, that would not ‘win’ in the North? Haba Jema’a!!!”
